What is the Taptap Send virtual debit card?
The Taptap Send virtual debit card is a convenient, secure and fully digital card that you can start using right away for online purchases, subscriptions, and more—no need to wait for anything in the mail. It’s fast, easy, and committed to giving you the best rates possible for spending in any currency.
How does it work?
- Purchases on your Taptap Send Card use funds from your Taptap Send Wallet(s).
- Load your Taptap Send debit card by loading your Taptap Send Wallet(s).
- Your purchases will take funds out of the wallet of the same currency when available.
If you do not have funds in your transaction currency, we will convert the equivalent amount from your available Wallet(s) using the Taptap Send rate* at the time of your transaction, with no added fees! *Where Taptap Send rates are not available, Visa FX rates will be used.
How do I create a Taptap Send Card?

You can easily create a Taptap Send Card. Follow these quick and easy steps:
- Make sure you have a Taptap Send Wallet
- From the home screen, tap on the “Get card” banner or press the “Card” icon at the bottom of the screen
- You will see an “About cards” screen, tap on the “Agree and Continue” button
- Set a PIN of your choice and confirm it
- Your card is ready and activated!
How do I activate the Taptap Send Card?
Using a virtual card? No activation is needed! As soon as you request a card within the app and receive your card details, it is ready to use.
Using a physical card? Cards are available to our customers in the Uk and EU. Simply follow the instructions in-app or our detailed instructions here
Where can I use the Taptap Send Card?
You can use your Taptap card for any online purchases or subscriptions, as well as anywhere that Google or Apple Pay are accepted. It currently works in the UK and in the EU and when traveling to almost anywhere else in the world. We will open this to more customers very soon.
Are there any countries where I cannot use the Taptap Send Card?
Yes. In line with international financial regulations and our obligations under U.S. and other applicable sanctions regimes (including OFAC and EU laws), we are unable to provide services to users in certain countries or regions.
These restrictions apply to jurisdictions that are subject to economic sanctions, including but not limited to:
- Countries or regions listed on the OFAC Sanctions List
- Countries subject to EU or UK financial restrictions
- Any jurisdictions where local laws or international regulations prohibit financial services from being offered
