What do you need to open an account at Taptap Send?

You need to be a resident in one of the states we are licensed in (see list below). You will have to provide us with a home address, a billing address and physically be located in a state that we are licensed in to open an account.

 

 

Where can you send money to?

You can send money to all corridors we service, without restriction.

 

Sending limits:

  • $2,000 per transaction
  • $2,999 in a 24 hour period 
  • $24,000 in a 14 day period

 

What cards can you use to send money:

  • Debit cards 
  • Visa or Mastercard branded

 

Cards you cannot use

  • Credit cards
  • Amex or Discover 
  • Sofort/Bancontact
  • Prepaid cards
  • Corporate card

 

How much do you pay to send?

For all destinations except DRC, you only pay a small percentage of the exchange rate. We review the rate every day and always fight to get you the best deal available. We will not charge fees!

 

For DRC, we will charge a very small fixed fee and that’s it. The amount you send will not impact the fee.

 

We are transparent and we never charge hidden fees!

Location restriction

You need to be a resident of one of the states we are licensed in.  If your state is not covered yet, please know that we are doing our maximum to obtain a license in all of the States before the end of the year. 

Once you have an account with us, you can send from any location (other licensed state or even from abroad). The only limitation is if you visit a state where we are not licensed yet: you will not be able to send and in that case, we will let you inform directly via the app.

 

Verifying your account

It's super easy to verify your account at Taptap Send: send us an ID and a selfie when you are prompted to, and your sending limits will be lifted. 

We may require additional documents, but you would be informed directly if that's the case. 

 

Documents we accept:

  • Passports
  • US driving license
  • US permanent resident card
  • Other US government-issued cards (incl. military ID, visa, employment authorisation card, refugee document)

Please note that we would not accept any non-US ID documents.

 

 

Your rights to refunds

You have two different rights to refunds:

 

A - Refund within 30 minutes

 

In accordance with CFPB Regulations, you are entitled to request a refund in the 30 minutes of initiating a transfer with us.

 

How to request this refund

Send us an email at support@taptapsend.com and give us as much information as possible so we can identify your transfer with certainty, otherwise, we might not be able to refund the transfer for you. 

For example: Could you please refund the transfer XXXXXX, that I sent to XXXX on the XXXX at XXXX. 

 

We will process your refund if (a) the funds have not been delivered or made available to the recipient’s account you indicated to us, and (b) we receive your request within the 30 minutes of your transfer being initiated. 

We will review your request as soon as we can, and should you contact us outside of our business hours, we might process your request on the following day, but that will never impact your refund rights. 

 

B - Refunds within 180 days 

 

If you believe that we made an error with your transfer, please contact us at support@taptapsend.com within 180 days of the transfer so we can look into it.  

When contacting us, you must give your full name, address, and phone number, the transfer identification number, send amount, the error with the transfer (and why you believe it is an error), and the name of the recipient (and if you know it, the recipient’s telephone number or address). 

 We will investigate the error as quickly as possible and let you know the outcome. However, we are dependent on our partners for this so please allow us up to 90 days to investigate. We will contact you as soon as possible after we have completed our investigation. 

 

 

Receipts

 

We will send you two receipts by email for each transfer you make with us (one when the funds are authorised by your bank, and one when your funds are debited).
