You can send money via Taptap Send to M-Pesa, Tigo Pesa, and Airtel Money in Tanzania.

What can you do if you send money to the wrong person or to the wrong number?

Please always double-check every transaction detail before you send money. We make it easy for you to edit any transfer details before the final payment confirmation step.

If you made an error with the recipient’s information and they have not withdrawn the fund, please send us an email at support@taptapsend.com via your registered email address. We will review the situation with you.

 

Tips for the recipient

M-Pesa

To withdraw funds from their M-Pesa account, your recipient needs to visit the nearest M-Pesa Agent, and request for withdrawal.

  • Your recipient needs to dial *150*00# on their mobile phone and select Withdraw Money

  • Enter the agent’s till number (5 or 6 digits) as displayed or advised by the agent.
  • Enter their password and follow the flow.

Tigo pesa

To withdraw from a Tigo Pesa account, your recipient can visit the nearest Umoja ATM.

  • Your recipient needs to dial *150*01# on their mobile phone and select "Financial Services" (7).

  • Select 5 "ATM Cash-out" and then select 1 "Umoja ATM".
  • Enter the amount they want to cashout and then enter their "PIN" to confirm. They will receive an OTP (code) via text message.
  • On the an Umoja ATM machine, select Tigo Pesa button.
  • Then enter OTP (code) they received via text message and input Tigo Pesa mobile number 07XXXXXXXX or 06XXXXXXXX.
  • Select or enter the same amount that was cashed out from the Tigo Pesa Menu on the ATM.

Airtel Money

To withdraw from an Airtel Money account, your recipient needs to visit an agent or an ATM.

Agent

  • Either at an agent or ATM, your recipient needs to dial *150*60# and select option to withdraw money and follow the flow as prompted.

  • Your recipient should carefully check the agent’s till number (where applicable) and withdrawal amount prior to confirmation.

  • They won’t need a photo ID on withdrawal.
