How much you can send depends on the mobile wallet operator you have selected:

 

Orange

  • Minimum transaction amount is 200 MGA (or 0.05 EUR)
  • Maximum transaction amount is 5M MGA (or 1000 EUR)
  • Maximum daily amount is 10M MGA
  • Maximum weekly amount is 20M MGA
  • Maximum monthly amount is 50M MGA

Airtel

  • Maximum transaction amount is 5M MGA (or 1000 EUR)
  • Maximum daily amount is 20M MGA
  • Maximum weekly amount is 60M MGA
  • Maximum monthly amount is 60M MGA

 

What can you do if you send money to the wrong person or to the wrong number,

Orange or Airtel

If you made a mistake with the recipient’s phone number unfortunately there is nothing we can do as the funds cannot be reversed. The name should not be that much of a problem as long as the phone number is correct.

It is important to always double-check before sending your transfer to make sure the details are accurate. Taptap Send allows editing everything until the very last step for that reason.

Orange

Please find below some useful information to help your recipient to cashout money in Orange Money in Madagascar:

  • The code asked is the secret PIN chosen by your recipient when they opened the mobile account; 
  • To consult their e-wallet balance and see if the transfer arrived, they can dial #144*52#;
  • If the cashout doesn’t work in an agency, it’s always worth trying in another one;
  • If they need more assistance, they can call the Orange Money Customer Service at  + 261 32 32 32 204 from abroad or  032 32 32 204 from another national operator.
  • For direct support with Orange Madagascar, they can also send an email to  Orange Madagascar at contact@orange.mg 

 

Airtel

  • For cashing out at the agency, please note that an ID and the secret PIN that your recipient chose when they opened the mobile account will be required
  • For more assistance, your recipient can call the Airtel Tigo Customer Service on 0333300121 or  434 or send an email to 121@mg.airtel.com
  • Your recipient can check the money on their account by dialling *436*5# - their password will be requested
  • And also, if it doesn’t work in an agency, it’s always worth trying in another one
